Welcome to CConvert CGI Suite. For Chinese webmaster, it has been a headache to support both Big5 and GB2312 encoded Chinese. CConvert CGI Suite is an effort trying to solve this problem. With CConvert CGI, Chinese in one encoding, can be transparently converted into the other encoding. Future development plan also calls for Chinese text to gif on the fly conversion.

Usage

Big5 Chinese to GB2312 Chinese conversion

Convert a file named "your_file_name":

b2g.cgi?file=your_file_name

your_file_name assumes a valid http path

GB2312 Chinese to Big5 Chinese conversion

Convert a file named "your_file_name":

g2b.cgi?file=your_file_name

your_file_name assumes a valid http path

Example:

http://www.chinesenewsnet.com/cgi-bin/b2g.cgi?file=index.htm

the original page is at http://www.chinesenewsnet.com/index.htm
the conversion cgi is at the following directory: "html_root_path"/cgi-bin/b2g.cgi
a simple insertion of the cgi command into the page link will translate the content.

System Requirement

Website (in GB2312 or Big5 encoded Chinese) hosted on Unix operating system.
Telnet access to hosting account.
ANSI C Compiler access with hosting account.

Licensing

Commercial website should consider to purchase the source code and technical support.
Hobby website, including Chinese forum website, can obtain a free non-transferable license with writen agreement to allow UniDoc System LLC promotion displayed at the beginning and end of the translated text block.
